Tools Don't Matter

August 20, 2018

If your a new designer, please don't feel the pressure to marry a tool. (both figurative and literal) It seems like this year, more than ever, we have been blasted by one new tool release after another. (Studio, a reworked version of Figma, endless updates to Sketch and the all new Framer X come to mind) The truth is, they all have strengths and weaknesses. Adapt. Grow. Learn. A great carpenter isn’t considered great because of the tool he uses, he is considered great because of the things he crafts. Keep in mind, new tools offer new features and can imporve your workflows. But they are not the end all be all that will make you better at your core function, creating great user experiences.
